Established in 1999, HREC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides educational programs that address bias, bullying and discrimination in the community.

HREC advocates for public policies that promote equality, diversity and respect for everyone. HREC was instrumental in getting a Utah Anti-Bullying Resolution passed in the 2006 legislative session.

HREC has been recognized for our work in the community with many awards, including the prestigious Alliance for Unity Award in 2005 and The 2007 Award from The Utah Commission for Women and Families.

"A glance at some recent horrific news headlines demonstrates the need for the work of HREC. You will find nor more committed and passionate advocates for anti-bias education than Carla Kelley and her co-workers."

Rev. Jessica Hatch
Director, Episcopal Community Services
